Extremely sorry for the delay again!
Lots of catching up to do….and so less time to do it in…story of my life!
Anyways,
Firstly, check out Brij’s link blog if you haven’t already. He’s been active when I wasn’t, and has a lot to offer… (I especially liked the Doom 3 mod link.)
Then I missed mentioning the new competition to iPod Shuffle…the flash player from Sony (this link is a list of their line up actually) about which you would have no doubt heard already. It was so extensively mentioned by the media that that was more of a surprise than the product itself. Not that the product is... (more)

Sorry for the delay…was lost up in many activities that make up our lives.
Anyways.
I’ll post here some links that would be good pastime over the weekend, so enjoy your weekend (while I attend the Mark Knopfler concert).
Most have come via email:
An optical illusion to get you started.
Go on to see this amazing ad.
Then maybe, you could spend some hours knowing yourself via some surveys and questionnaires (what else) though, keep in mind that these are completely an(n)onymous unlike those featured on emode… (Obviously, since the purposes are different)
Cnet news and wired both have... (more)

Shuffle has new accessories, says this nicely titled article on CNET.
But what makes the Shuffle tick? Supposedly it has dual chips making the music. Details say that it is running at not even half the power it is capable of!
Another one tells us what I already knew (no bragging here). They have some ideas, but nothing “schemes” as we have in Windows. Imagine not having different colours for different seasons, moods, occasions…etc. Even the cheapest mobile phones have profiles!
Moreover, those who want to customise iPods will do so, whether Apple likes it or not, as Francis Hwang has... (more)

Apple guys have done it… It’s official.
Full story on CNN and various other sites. CNET has some related stories too
Suddenly, 1GB Shuffle has become expensive as compared to the $199 4GB mini.( though it has no power adapter…accessory comes at $29!)

Some miscellaneous links

Wired has some awesome stuff every time. A case of Chicken soup for the environmentalist soul, I think.
Then there’s this article that talks about design. I followed the links in that one, and mind you they’re too good. Number27, the design firm is doing an amazing job with their wordcount and 10x10. Even their site for Oral Fixation is a masterpiece. I would certainly have bought a box… I think I’d already have had a few had I known it existed.
The flash intro on their earlier website is worth checking out.
Meanwhile, also check out gigapxl and its story.

I missed out on yesterday’s rumour that Apple is unveiling new iPods soon.
Think Secret’s website said that they had this news from “reliable resources” and that they had reported this as early as Friday, 18th. (Source: CNET)
So we might expect new minis with colour screens and an improved 6GB capacity.
Meanwhile I am waiting for a new 2GB iPod Shuffle!! (1GB is passé…too less capacity ;))

There has been quite a furor in the blogging world. (Source: Steve Rubel)
Apparently, Google, rather, their new updated toolbar, is the latest in the news after its controversial Autofill feature for supposed world domination.
After this dies down, Google might give in, it might not. But what do the masses (read: technologically challenged) care? Millions will download and install the toolbar and most probably think it’s ‘really neat’ the way Google renders maps and all that. (See my earlier post). Most won’t even know that they have been manipulated.
And supposing if they do change the... (more)

An update:
Was checking out Microsoft.com/potential, since I was intrigued by their much publicised ad.
There, they have this amazing flash demo that imagines some scenarios in the future where their products would be used. (The tablet PC looks really cool…)
I was surprised to see the Creative’s Portable Media Player that I mentioned in my prev. post in one of those videos. In fact, I even found a video (good one, this too) that features this player quite extensively.
I guess MS guys have some kind of a tie up with the Creative folks.
That also might explain how Gates happens to use... (more)
